To the person who asked for thoughts about the state of the union of kick-ass marriages or marriages in general. I believe marriage is a sacred union and should be for life.

If you had any doubts about it lasting 'till death do us part', then, it is my belief that you should not take that walk down the aisle.

Even if a marriage produces the greatest kids in the world, the best companionship in the world for a period of time and dies out, it is a failure only when the separation and divorce occurs. Should they continue to try to salvage the union, they may not be getting 'A's but they are still getting passing grades. Marriage is the sacred union between a man and a woman. Not the production of children.

Though I am a failure, I still believe that marriage should last a life time. It is unfortunate that it is not till we get older that we discover what truly matters in life. Life is a choice of priorities! When a person chooses someone who will fulfill his needs, not just his wants, he will have made a good choice and the chances of his marriage lasting a life time is in the extremely high percentile.

Marriage takes a lot of work, giving and taking. Like all things in life changes, so must we in marriage. I finally admitted failure after 30 years of marriage, not all of wedded bliss, but 15 years of hard work and mediation.

To all the married readers of this post. I ask that each time that you are feeling frustrated and angry, think back to the day that you stood together and was about to slip that ring over the other's finger. Think of how you Think of how you felt when you looked into the other's eyes. Love, honor, respect like you did then."

Keep It Simple Stupid

K.I.S.S.:How do I keep things simple? Enjoy the moment, breathe, stop and think, do not have to “think” all the time, save the sparks for other mind intensive tasks…, take a walk, meditate, enjoy brief periods of rest throughout my workday, do what I can, do not force myself to accomplish more than what I am capable of accomplishing at any particular point in time (some days are more accomplishable than others)...

The Effective Prayer

I found this a while ago while surfing for content for this blog. I came accross this prayer and found it to be very powerful, and worthy of inmortality at this blog with all credits due its author(s).

A little of everything...

Life, living, news, thinking tuneups, ranting and raving, joys, positive affirmations, reflections, meditating, sharing, all in a day's work and all in a day's play...

Life today is happening regardless of me and my world inside. I have been living in a sort of fantasy world were people are nice all the time, specially online. Not to say that I am great always. Lots of things have developed since the inception of this blog and others that I am cooking in the burner. The most interesting piece of news these days, for me is the Space Shuttle take off from Cape Canaveral in Florida. There are other good news out there , but to me this one does it. My thinking is undergoing a serious evaluation, and it looks like positive and exciting things are developing as a result of the overhaul. Finally all the pieces of the puzzle are coming together. There is a bright light shining at the end of the tunnel, and it is as bright as the sun, but it soothes and comforts. It does not burn... I had an interesting experience in the last day or so that really taught me a good lesson. It is of importance how we rant and rave, for it can easily be misunderstood, facts twisted and the whole thing brought out of proportion. After all, studying the book of Proverbs in the Bible has not been a priority in my immediate life, but I see how it is a wise choice today for me.
I am glad to have friends and family that, no matter what, are there for me, in good times and bad times. They are the fuel that propels the love that I have for them in my heart: I am one with the radiant love of God. The Spirit of God within radiates goodness and healing to all those I come in contact with. This is the result of the love and care I have received throughout my life.

I meditate now in the goodness of God...In His Power and Wisdom...

What I am sharing is something that in a way has been overdue. Even though I have shared news from other places and posted them here, This place is about me and what I do, think, and say.

Long days of work precede this one. The task is never finished. The job is incomplete. Completion is determined by how much satisfaction we derive from the effort we have put out. Then rest and relaxation are the balancing act that allows us to contemplate the water flowing in the bay, the birds flying in the sky, and the innocent smile of a child.

INSIGHT

"What would happen if all these neutral nations...were with one spontaneous impulse to do their duty...and were to stand together...against aggression and wrong? At present their plight is lamentable; and it will become much worse. They bow humbly and in fear to...threats of violence. ... Each one hopes that if he feeds the crocodile enough, the crocodile will eat him last. All of them hope that the storm will pass before their turn comes to be devoured. But I fear...the storm will not pass. It will rage and it will roar, ever more loudly, ever more widely. It will spread to the South; it will spread to the North. There is no chance of a speedy end except through united action." --Sir Winston Churchill

I like sunsets. To me, they are inspiring feats of nature and portray the many aspects of God. Do you believe in other ideas other than God? Well that is perfectly fine in my book. If you are Atheist or Agnostic, that is fine with mew too. If you are Muslim, Buddhist, or any other of our magnificent world's religious advocates, that is perfectly fine too... The fact is that I can not deny the existence of a Higher Power when I explore and contemplate nature. It is inevitable for me to understand that there is a Power greater than you and me that has to have had a say so in these beautiful shows called sunsets.

100,000 Members, Trackback, More goodies

Around 11AM EST today, we flew past the 100,000 registered member milestone! I want to thank all the members, moderators, premium users, and all the people who helped make HaloScan the largest commenting system on the net. Thanks for all the help, suggestions, complements and support you all have contributed to bring HaloScan where it is today.

Now you all may be thinking, what next? Are the HaloScan guys going to sit around twiddling their thumbs now that we've gotten this far? Absolutely not! In fact, today we launch the next phase in the HaloScan service...

Trackback!

Trackback and commenting go hand in hand, especially in the weblog community, but unfortunately, there hasn't been an easy way for Blogger, Blogspot, Diaryland, Diary-X, iBlog, Newspro, Pitas, and many other weblog users to implement trackback capabilities until now.

HaloScan fills this need by providing you not only with the (free) commenting services we have provided for the last one and half years, but also easy, seamless integration of trackback services (both incoming and outgoing ping support) to all existing and future Haloscan members. All this at the unbeatable price of $0.00--FREE. Getting started requires minimal work--sign up, log in and follow the simple, two-step directions to install trackback and/or commenting into your weblog. We highly recommend that all existing and new users install both the commenting and trackback services but you can also install just one or the other as needed. If you have trouble with any part of this process, we'll be glad to help! Also, be sure to send a trackback ping to this post if you install the trackback system or write about us in your weblog.

The trackback system could not have been developed as quickly as it has been without the assistance/expertise/support of Pete Holiday. Pete explains how all this came about better than I do but basically, he created the remote trackback proof of"

bq. Look at the big picture. You build your life upon your faith. You cherish your faith. You aren’t afraid to tell others of your beliefs. You stand for positive values. You are ethical in your dealings. You pray and meditate to have the courage to face your fears. You pray and meditate to have the strength to accept, endure and triumph over the hardships and small daily annoyances that the path to success will present. You celebrate the good that you find in the world. With humility, submit. You are but one fragile, fallible human. Every religion has prayers. A prayer is your conversation with God. Your success and happiness is God’s answer. Your selfless good works in helping others are your prayers put into action.

Learning....to surf the web again!

It has been an interesting ride for me in the last few weeks. Life has taken on new meanning as I have joined, explored and tried new sites and communities. I have been most grateful to my new friends online for having been instrumental in this great new journey. You can meet some of us at 43things. You can also view my personal goals page here. Hope you enjoy!

A Special request

I received this email from a friend today...
Subject: A Favor to Ask: Breast Cancer

A favor to ask It only takes a minute....

Please tell ten friends to tell ten today! The Breast Cancer site is
having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to
meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an
underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their
site and click on "donating a mammogram" for free (pink window in the
middle). This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers
use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for
advertising.
Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know.

Our Minister, Richard Mantei, shares a metaphysical tool which has evolved for him over the years. Many Unity students have given him feedback that a steady application of this technique has helped them to gain insight and freedom from patterns of thought that do not serve their growth and connection with Spirit. No matter whether is Buddha or Jesus, gotta pray for direction, each and everyday...
When you pray, the future looks brighter. When you pray, avenues open were there were none at all. When you pray, stuff, good stuff happens. When you pray, your mind opens to God. When you pray, all seems to make sense, even when things are chaos and chaotic. When things are chaotic, it is time to pray. When things are going well, it is time to pray.
The time to pray is here...The time to pray is now...

Decisions...Part two

Ok so here I am trying to decide what blogging software to use for separating my entries into categories ...I did a Google search, which incidentally is the best search engine out there in cyberspace and got a headache trying to discern where to go and what to pick...I can't complain, this is one of the advantages of living in a free market economic environment
The dream blog platform should have the ability to allow me to set up these categories without having to tweak so much inside at the HTML level...Yes, I happen to be lazy and slow at typing, so I need and want speed and ease. I remember when I had to take classes just to be able to learn online navigation skills...and no it has not been too long since this happened. I am still very grateful for ThirdAge.com for having taught several classes for free, allowing me to build a prototyped web page which is still out there, believe it or not. You can visit it at Wow4Real... Coincidentally, my newest medium on line is called Life and Living for Real. Anyway, I just emailed The developer of the software I am writing this piece on to see if he has any ideas, which I am positive he does. I have been using David'sRM The Journal now for a few years, but it was not until recently that I developed an appreciation to post out there in the world what I think and feel about my life. I do a lot with the journal, but this is a nice topic for another post.
Ok so just revisited some sites and I am narrowing down my choices to 3 of them. I also need to revisit 43Things.com and find out if anybody responded to my plea for assistance there...So, the finalists besides Blogger,  of course, are: Movable typeTypepadLivejourrnal, and Cafelog... These are the few that are compatible with The Journal, and capable of receiving my posts all from the convenience of my Journal.
Thanks for reading me ramble...!

Wow! Day was filled with lots of activity! just finished tagging all of my goals at 43things.com. That was fun to do.
Prior to that, searching my brain for ways in which to improve my blogging. I am thinking that it will be good to open another 3 pages at Blogger and start blogging on my other categories...I am still pretty undecided, so more prayer and meditation on this coming up...

By godsdragon

Ok. Deciding where to blog next.
I did not think it was going to be too hard. There were a lot of choices out there. There is also the following questions:

1.Is it easy to post pictures.
2.Am I able to categorize my posts (this is probably the most important characteristic I am considering when thinking about a new blog platform.
3.Is it easy to upload banners, affiliate buttons and other trinkets.
4.What are prices in general. Do they charge monthly, yearly? a one time payment?
5.Am I going to get my money's worth if I purchase a subscription versus continuing to use "free" services such as this one, or Blogger, or MSN Spaces
6.Should I get the usual web page I was accustomed to?
7.What about speed and quality of services
8.Is there staff helping behind the lines?
9.How many blogs do I really want to have and update?
10.Is all this crap really worth the agravation?
11.Will I be able to make some money blogging?
12.What's going to happen when my real business picks up.

Ok then so these are the questions that are lingering in my mind. My next step is to get the committe upstairs to get going and research the options...

I affirm...

Affirmations are statements of Truth. Jesus' teachings consisted and revolved around constant prayer, which was His way of establishing contact with God. As such, I have learned that using affirmations does change the way I think and feel about who I am and what I do on a daily basis.
affirmations work when used regularly and prayerfully. They do. They really do.

I am a child of God, heir to His Kingdom.

Live 8

Live 8 Music from the event...

What is Live 8?
Live 8 is a series of concerts and events across the world which are being staged to highlight the problem of global poverty. It's a chance for ordinary people to call on world leaders at this year's G8 summit and tell them to put a stop to the needless deaths of 30,000 children every single day.
On 6th July 2005, the leaders of Great Britain, the USA, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Russia will meet at Gleneagles in Scotland to talk about world affairs, including Africa. They will be presented with a workable plan to double aid, drop the debt and make trade laws fair.
The G8 summit is our opportunity to demand that the world's most influential leaders take action now.
Live 8 has organised concerts in Philadelpia, Berlin, London, Rome, Paris and Edinburgh, with 100 artists, a million spectators, two billion viewers and one message: Make Poverty History.

cnvc:: Marshall B. Rosenberg on 9/11

"To create short-term safety, we will need to protect ourselves from further threat. This may include actions taken in, what I call, the “protective use of force.” We may need to capture and imprison the perpetrators so that they cannot attack us again. And we may even have to kill some of them if we can't otherwise restrain them.

But, for the long-term, we also need to begin creating lasting safety and peace in the world. Our leaders need to establish relationships that will give rise to true and permanent cooperation between nations. They need to start now to change the circumstances that give rise to violent behavior. The wealthy countries of the world need to work together to create a world where all people have access to basic life-serving resources and protection for their human rights—where all people are safe and free, and have the opportunity to create a satisfying life.

If there is an answer to the enormous problem before us, it is to seek solutions that will meet the needs of all concerned. This is not utopian idealism. I have seen such solutions created—over and over again—around the world."

—Marshall B. Rosenberg, Ph.D.
cnvc:: Marshall B. Rosenberg on 9/11

I definitely agree with Dr. Rosenberg. I come from a Martial Arts background. Bullies sometimes do not understand the language that most human beings talk with, the language of reason, the heart, or whatever you decide you want to call it. They do understand the same stimuli that they put out and that is sometimes a deterrent to prevent them from continuing to bully around. If there is no reaction to their actions in their same "language" they may never learn that what they do is wrong...
So, I do not know how to quantify the short run, but the protective use of force must be taken before it escalates even more.

Quoting from another source, I found these other statement(s), which support my AEA motto:

Emphasize information sharing. Openness can further security. Quickly
identifying terrorist threats and infrastructure vulnerabilities calls for
cooperative, fluid information networks. Reducing barriers to
information-sharing rather than compartmentalizing secrets represents the
greatest challenge in fostering such networks. State and local governments, the
private sector, and the public have a central role to play in identifying
suspicious activities and individuals and in finding and correcting security
vulnerabilities. Sharing information about threats and infrastructure
vulnerabilities enhances security by multiplying sources of information,
empowering Americans to make their own choices about what risks they are
prepared to accept, and creating market incentives and political pressures to
reduce vulnerabilities.

I am so glad to read such an article as this one... Please click on the link, it will move you!
Thanks to a friend that had this link posted on their site...
Them freaking cowards! that is what comes to mind when thinking about the pseudo human animals that commit those acts! You must have a really horrible life! You must have such a fucked up concept about what life and living is all about! If you could only feel but for a moment the terrible pain you cause mothers, fathers, children, wives and husbands!!!
What is up with all that hatred you carry deep inside?
Why can't you seek help somewhere and deal with your pain in a way that it does not cause any more to others including your family... Oh that you wake up in Hell someday and realize what it is that you have done! Oh that you wake up in time and seek help for yourselves and your loved ones...
Oh that I don't see one of you down the street... I know, you are thinking, yeah right, I blend with everyone else...
BUT YOU NEVER WILL KNOW WHAT HITS YOU WHEN JUSTICE IS DONE!
SEEK SOME HELP BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!
I carry the same hatred deep inside for you assholes! I am a Christian, but I have no problem with Buddhists or Muslims or Atheists or Agnostics...
I carry deep inside that blood of the warrior! the warrior that says: Enough is enough!

This week...

It has been busy for me. There are not enough hours in the day to accomplish everything that needs done. Can anyone relate?
Meditation has dwindled a bit for me since I've dedicated my time to other mundane activities. I realize that the busier I get, the more important that period of quiet and peace is in my life...
As I resume this writting, I have enjoyed a quiet guided meditation from one of the several tapes I use to practice. I now feel relaxed, calm, serene, ready to tackle my next assignment...

The greatest Event on Earth

Hard to believe it really happened. A quarter of a century ago!. The folks in this picture are probably onto bigger and better things by now, if not, bless their hearts. They represent patriotic America, an America were almost everything and anything within reason goes... The times have changed though... Back then it was Vietnam... These days it is called the war on Terrorism. A big difference in circumstances, economic terrain and other variables.

The Woodstock Music and Art Fair in 1969 drew more than
450,000 people to a pasture in Sullivan County. For four days, the site became a
countercultural mini-nation in which minds were open, drugs were all but legal
and love was "free". The music began Friday afternoon at 5:07pm August 15 and
continued until mid-morning Monday August 18. The festival closed the New York
State Thruway and created one of the nation's worst traffic jams. It also
inspired a slew of local and state laws to ensure that nothing like it would
ever happen again. Quoting from Article.

So, I just thought and felt like reminding myself of what is and what can be, without the mind altering stuff, without the insanity, without cops without immorality or ultra right morality... What can we remember from the late sixties that can bring us hope in these turbulent times we are embracing... Wow, I remember reading on a groovy poster... Arms are for hugs not for war... But can we afford not to defend ourselves this time? Is there another way to deal with the Thug-ship and nip them in the bud? All I have to do is think back about that infamous September 11
and ask myself... Is there really a chance?
BY THE WAY,
I SUPPORT MY TROOPS, BUT I HATE THE WAR!

Ok, here is part of me. My wife gets the rest. Posted by Picasa

Feeling blue

It has been a while since I have felt this way. I am feeling really powerless over the state of affairs in the world and around me. I sense this air of tension everywhere I go. People guarded in self defense and ready to snap, road rage, sarcasm...
I have 3 ex-clients call me this last week to let me know what is going on in their lives. I have not worked at that place for over a year now, and a couple of them have told me that they had not been visited since I quit the job...
